    Her Majesty on holiday at Balmoral   On her accession to the throne, Her Majesty vowed to dedicate her life to service and duty. It is this that I wanted to portray in my Diamond Jubilee portrait, taken in her study at Balmoral. She is attending to her red boxes even though she is on holiday. My inspiration came from a photograph of George VI sitting at the same desk
